Memory Foam Mattresses – Choosing the Best Memory Foam Mattress For You
[ad_1]
There are several types of mattresses to choose from. There are spring mattresses, foam, water, and futon, just to name a few. Within each type, there are many variations. If you have decided on buying a memory foam mattress, you are halfway to making your decision. Now, you have to choose the right type of memory foam mattress for you. When doing so, consider the following factors.
1) Density. The density is a major factor in how durable the mattress will be and how long the foam will continue to be able to conform to your body. Generally speaking, a minimum density rating of four pounds is considered good quality.
2) The ILD rating. The ILD rating is the rating of the firmness of the mattress. This is, of course, a matter of personal preference for most. However, if the reason that you are shopping for a new mattress is because of chronic back pain, you should not buy a new one with a rating of less than 13. Make sure to consult your physician with further directions.
3) Resiliency of the foam. The visco elastic foam that is used in most memory foam models comes in varying levels of quality. The really good stuff will be very conforming and will be able to change shape for years without losing its resiliency. The cheaper stuff will start to form clumps and sags long before it should. In order to find a unit with resilient foam, check out as many mattress reviews and ratings as you can.
