Thick, innertufted cotton layers are attached to the spring unit with the traditional method of using buttons on either side of the coil. The company doesn’t use this method just because it’s traditional; this technique has proven to stand the test of time and it allows for some pre-compression of the spring unit that gives a more consistent pressure across the springs.
Depending on the model you choose these comfort layers will be comprised of different combinations of cotton, cashmere, latex and memory foam. Each mattress comes with the Chattam edge with some more expensive ones featuring the patented Portrait Frame system. The edging provides more sleep area, better support and a firm sitting edge.
Finally, each mattress is encased in beautiful Belgian Damask jersey knit ticking with each collection having its own regal crown pattern. The corners are fitted with metal guards and the mattress is ventilated by means of brass vents. The embroidered handles have been meticulously sewn so that they will not pull off from the mattress itself.
It’s very hard to find anything bad to say about a Chattam & Wells mattress. The best way to decide if one is right for you is to read as many mattress reviews as you can.
